Some of this line meets at "Old Stone Church", Oak Grove & Stone
Meeting House Road, for services 3rd Sunday in May. Some are buried there.
From tradition - there is an "Old Stone Meeting House" in Woolwich
where the Adams, Locke and other families would get together once a year.
Wes Crossley attended picnics there as a child with his grandmother
Catherine (nee Adams 72) Crossley. I visited 1993 Jul 22, 1994 Sep 03
with my daughter Erika M. Cook, and attended the annual service in 1995.
Other functions, such as reunions, occur there. The site is a State
Historical Landmark. Exiting 295 to 322E, take the first left at light.
Old Stone Church is on the NE corner of the next 4-way intersection Stone
Meeting House and Oak Grove roads.
Charles Garwood/Franklin Adams - reportedly drowned in the Raritan canal.
When. Record exists?. Help! I think this another.
Much thanks to Joe Kelly for his corrections & contributions to
this line and others.

n. John Reuben Adams (1875-1951) and Ella Gertrude Cox (1881-1969). Both
died in Woodbury. Janet Bromiley's line. According to his death
certificate, his parents are John Adams and Beulah Locke. The problem is
we cannot find any other trace of "John Adams" other than that death
certificate. We have found Beulah Adams and John Reuben at age 5 on the
1880 Gloucester Co. census living with Ethan & Susan Middleton. We know
we are related to the Old Stone Church folks from my grandfather's
brother, Samuel Cox Adams(1909-1991). He used to go to the anniversary
service and had genealogical records.

n.~1848 deserted his family and was never heard from again, as attested
to by Emma L. Adams to justify a pension request by Rebecca after
son Charles F. was killed in the Civil War at South Mtn, VA[MD] on
1862 Sep 14 unmarried and without issue. He was with Company K,
Regiment #7 of the Pennsylvania Infantry. The index at the Archives
in Washington D. C. incorrectly indicates Rebecca to be his widow,
and his Regiment to be #36. The conflicting prior information was
found when I examined the original records and is unless the index was
originally for a different Charles F. Adams.
